The cost is $545 annually, payable in advance of service. Contact the San Diego Source OPR manager for more details at plans@sddt.com.
Q. What happens if my Online Plan Room subscription lapses?
You will be contacted prior to the expiration of your account. Subscribers are encouraged to renew their subscription in advance in order to avoid lapses. If you choose to cancel your subscription, your access will be disabled immediately.
Q. I forgot my password. Can you help me find out what it is?
Yes! Contact The Daily Transcript at (619) 232-4381 and ask for the OPR manager for password assistance with your account. We will e-mail that password to you immediately.
Q. Can I share my password so that more people in my office can use the San Diego Source Online Plan Room?
Sharing of passwords could result in not having access to the OPR yourself. While someone else is using it, you are locked out. Encourage your co-workers and employees to sign up and become an independent subscriber with their own username and password.
Q. Can I download plans and specs?
Yes, when you browse projects (bidding or archived) and find one you want to keep on your list, click on the job and once it is open, click on Save This Project to My Desk. When you are finished with the project, save it onto your hard drive or delete it.
Q. How many projects are available in the Archive?
There are approximately 300 past bid construction projects in the archive available for review. The specialized Spec Book Search may not work for some of these since they were created prior to the advanced search capability.
Q. How often are new construction projects loaded onto the Bidding Projects list?
The plan room coordinator checks in on average 10 new jobs each day at The Daily Transcript. We scan these plans and make them available within 24 hours of receipt.
Q. Can I sort the construction projects?
Yes. You can sort by project name, city and bid date.
Q. How does the Spec Book Search work?
One of the most exciting advancements of the Search Tools is the All Spec Books search. By using this search tool, all of the spec books will be searched for the key words typed in the search field. The results will be displayed by the number of occurrences in that project’s spec book. Plans with the most occurrences will be displayed at the top and the least at the bottom.
Q. How do I subscribe to other plan rooms in the network?
There is a subscription fee of $300 per subscription to other plan rooms on the network. The subscription manager will adjust your account to grant access immediately once the fee is paid.
Q. How do I put my own construction project up on the Online Plan Room?
Send the CD-ROM of drawings and plans (.tif files) and specifications (.pdf files) to the plan room coordinator. They will be logged in for publishing in The Daily Transcript and for scanning onto the OPR. There is no charge and no fees for posting jobs onto the OPR. Note: Please be sure to send all the addenda for the project too.
Q. How do I add myself as a bidder on a construction project?
After you have clicked on the specific project, click on the Add Me to Bidders List button and follow the instructions for adding your information.
Q. How do I e-mail project information?
There is a one-click solution to e-mail all project information using the mailer tool. By clicking this button and entering the email address of the recipient, you can send this project information in a flash.
